Set your DVRs: 2NEWS features TulsaWORKS client on Memorial Day

 5/26/2013

You might say, Beyond Jobs is working. Watch KJRH on Monday (May 27) to see how the program helped one of our clients, Alicia Ray. After overcoming a series of setbacks, Alicia earned a B.A. in sociology. However, she still struggled to find a good job. Discouraged by several dead end job offers and a lack of excellent technical skills, she said, Alicia enrolled in TulsaWORKS’ Life Skills program. “Life Skills provided the professional tools needed in the career world; Workforce Development provided me with the hands-on training and software I needed to gain computer hard skills; and Beyond Jobs enabled me with professional networks, financial and future planning, as well as career and internship prospects.”

TulsaWORKS is a program partner with Beyond Jobs, which provides job training and placement services to women. Goodwill Industries of Tulsa is one of 45 Goodwill agencies taking part in the program, which is funded through a grant from the Walmart Foundation.
